Water pollution control

L. B. O'Leary

Industry must consider complete treatment of waste as a part of the cost of doing business. Water must be used by others; therefore, it should be returned to the streams in as pure a state as is technically feasible. The idea of using the public waters as a waste disposal area is simply no longer acceptable. We have the technical know-how for effective pollution control today, and better information is being developed each day. If changes are made in treatment requirements, they will be in the direction of greater waste removal efficiency as increases in waste loads result from population increases and industrial expansion.
